New Photo Causes Problems for Crist
Marco Rubio struck a powerful blow to the campaign of Charlie Crist today when he released a photo showing Crist “closely associating” with Barack Obama.
The photo is sure to bolster the campaign of Rubio by attempting to prove conclusively that Crist leans slightly to the left.
“They say a picture is worth a thousand words,” said Rubio, “This picture is worth 787 million words. And it made me throw up in my mouth a little. It tasted like Bacon Bits.”
Rubio is quickly gaining attention as the future torch-bearer of the GOP, both thanks to his young, hip image and a certain degree of sympathy.
“You can’t help but support Marco,” said Newt Gingrich, “Not only is he the future of the GOP, but he also threw up in his mouth a little when he saw that picture. I’ve thrown up a little in my mouth before, too. It’s not pleasant. I feel your pain, Marco. I had to avoid eating for three days to keep my throat clear through the whole Scozzafava incident.”
Meanwhile, the damage to Crist’s image has been done. The negative publicity has been seized upon by a number of diverse sources.
“Dude, Charlie, you made me ill,” said Clay Aiken, “I can’t even begin to explain how inappropriate that picture is. Get a room.”
Detractors loomed in the political realm, as well.
“That is my man. Get your hands off of my man. Don’t touch. I will slap you,” said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
Crist dismissed the photo as out of context.
“We had just shared some French poetry and a nice Chardonnay and we got caught up in the moment,” said Crist, “I really don’t see what the big deal was. Is it any more disgusting than the image of Jon kissing Kate?”
